Hikvision iDS-7216HUHI-M2/XT 16 Channel 8MP AcuSense DVR
The Hikvision iDS-7216HUHI-M2/XT helps you upgrade an existing coax CCTV installation with clearer recordings, intelligent human and vehicle detection, and convenient remote viewing. This 16 channel AcuSense DVR supports analogue recording up to 8MP, giving shops, offices and larger properties detailed footage without replacing an entire compatible camera system.
Two hard drive bays provide room for up to 24TB of storage, while AcuSearch helps you find relevant footage more efficiently. Connect a suitable display to the 4K HDMI output for local monitoring, or use Hik-Connect to view your system remotely. HDTVI two-way audio is available with compatible cameras, allowing you to communicate through the camera as well as monitor the scene.

8MP Recording with Clearly Defined Frame Rates
The DVR records at up to 8MP at 8fps. Other main-stream options include 3K and 5MP at 12fps, 4MP at 15fps, 8MP Lite at 15fps and 3MP at 18fps. At 1080p, recording supports up to 25fps for PAL or 30fps for NTSC.
Camera input frame rates, recording frame rates and monitor output are separate specifications. The 4K HDMI output provides high-resolution local display output; it does not mean that every connected camera records at 4K at 30fps.
AcuSense Human and Vehicle Detection
Motion Detection 2.0 is enabled by default across the analogue channels and uses deep learning to classify people and vehicles. This helps reduce false alarms caused by irrelevant movement, such as moving leaves or changes in lighting. Quick searches by object or event type are also supported.
AcuSearch, Perimeter Protection and Facial Recognition
AcuSearch is supported on up to 8 channels to help locate relevant targets in recorded footage. Advanced analysis supports up to 8-channel perimeter protection or 4-channel facial recognition, depending on the configured mode.
Facial functions include detection, capture, picture search and comparison alarms, with support for up to 16 face picture libraries. These are maximum supported capabilities; available combinations depend on the recorder configuration.
HDTVI Two-Way Audio
Compatible HDTVI cameras can carry audio over the coaxial connection, and this recorder supports HDTVI two-way audio technology across its analogue channels. The connected camera must support the required audio functions; connecting a standard camera does not add a microphone or speaker.
The recorder also has a separate RCA audio input and output. Its single-channel RCA two-way audio function uses the audio input. Additional RCA audio inputs are optional and should not be assumed to be fitted to the standard unit.
Flexible Analogue and IP Camera Support
The recorder accepts HDTVI, AHD, HDCVI, CVBS and IP video technologies. It has 16 physical analogue BNC inputs and supports 16 IP channels, expandable to a maximum of 32 IP channels by converting analogue channels to IP use.
The 32-channel figure is the maximum IP configuration, rather than 32 IP cameras in addition to all 16 analogue cameras. IP cameras require a suitable network connection and their own compatible power arrangement.
Dual Hard Drive Storage and Remote Viewing
Two SATA interfaces support compatible surveillance hard drives up to 12TB each. Select the required hard drive option when ordering; choosing No HDD means a suitable hard drive must be installed before footage can be recorded locally.
H.265 Pro+ compression helps use available storage efficiently. Hik-Connect supports remote access once the recorder, network connection and account have been configured.

Installation & Compatibility
Check each camera’s video format, resolution and audio support before installation. Use suitable coax cabling and connections for the required signal quality. Recording resolution and frame rate depend on the selected settings and connected cameras.
Analogue cameras need a suitable separate power supply; this model should not be treated as a PoC recorder. IP cameras require an appropriate network connection and separate compatible power or PoE equipment. The DVR itself requires a 12V DC, 5A supply.
The linked Viper Pro 5A four-way power supply is an option for a suitable group of cameras, subject to their combined load. It does not provide 16 individual camera outputs. A complete 16-camera installation may require additional or different power equipment.
The linked MW3222-V-DT is a Full HD monitor. It can be used for local viewing at a supported Full HD output setting; a suitable 4K display is required to view the recorder’s 4K HDMI output. The DS-1280ZJ-TR13 junction box is an accessory for the linked compatible camera, rather than a mounting base for the DVR.
