The Hikvision iDS-7204HUHI-M1/PXT is a 4-channel AcuSense PoC hybrid CCTV DVR designed for high-resolution analogue and IP surveillance systems. It combines support for 4K / 8MP HDTVI cameras with Hikvision PoC technology, intelligent human and vehicle detection, AcuSearch and HDTVI two-way audio.
PoC makes this recorder particularly attractive when used with compatible Hikvision PoC cameras because video, audio and camera power can be carried using the coaxial CCTV connection, helping simplify compatible installations.
PoC – Power over Coax
The iDS-7204HUHI-M1/PXT supports compatible Hikvision PoC cameras, allowing camera power to be supplied through the coaxial cable from the DVR.
This can reduce additional power cabling and separate camera power supplies when used with compatible PoC cameras. The 4-channel PXT supports up to four compatible AT PoC cameras.
4K / 8MP Camera Support
The DVR accepts compatible 8MP / 4K HDTVI camera input. Main-stream encoding supports up to 8MP at 8fps on channel 1, with additional high-resolution recording modes available across the remaining channels.
It also supports 3K, 5MP, 4MP, 1080p and other resolutions depending on camera technology and configuration.
Hikvision AcuSense
Hikvision AcuSense deep-learning technology helps distinguish people and vehicles from other movement, reducing irrelevant events and making CCTV searches more useful.
4-Channel AcuSearch
Up to 4 channels of AcuSearch help users quickly locate recorded human and vehicle events, reducing the time required to review footage after an incident.
Facial Recognition & Perimeter Protection
The recorder supports up to 2-channel facial recognition or up to 4-channel advanced perimeter protection using deep-learning technology.
HDTVI Two-Way Audio
The iDS-7204HUHI-M1/PXT supports HDTVI two-way audio technology and audio over coax with compatible cameras, providing video and audio functionality through the coaxial CCTV connection.
Hybrid Camera Compatibility
The recorder supports five video signal technologies:
- HDTVI
- AHD
- HDCVI
- CVBS
- IP Cameras
It has 4 analogue BNC channels and supports IP expansion up to a maximum of 8 IP camera inputs, with each IP channel supporting resolution up to 8MP.
H.265 Pro+ Compression
Hikvision H.265 Pro+ compression helps reduce storage requirements and network bandwidth while maintaining useful recorded image quality, allowing longer recording retention from the installed surveillance HDD.
Up to 12TB HDD Storage
The DVR has 1 SATA interface supporting a surveillance hard drive up to 12TB, providing substantial storage capacity for high-resolution CCTV recording.
Hik-Connect Remote Viewing
When connected to the internet, the CCTV system can be remotely accessed using Hik-Connect for compatible live viewing, playback and event functions.

Important PoC Compatibility Note
PoC power functionality requires a compatible Hikvision PoC camera. Standard non-PoC cameras can still be used where compatible, but require their normal separate power arrangement.
