Hikvision iDS-2CD7A46G0/P-IZHS 4MP ANPR Motorised Varifocal Bullet IP Camera
Hikvision iDS-2CD7A46G0/P-IZHS helps you identify vehicles entering and leaving your premises with dedicated Automatic Number Plate Recognition. This 4MP DeepinView bullet camera combines a motorised varifocal lens, DarkFighter low-light imaging and intelligent vehicle detection for car parks, gates, commercial entrances and private access roads.
This Hikvision 4MP ANPR camera is available with a 2.8–12mm or 8–32mm lens. Both versions are in stock: select your required lens from the dropdown before adding to your basket. The camera is supplied with a round mounting back box already fitted to help conceal and protect the installation connections.
Why Choose This Product?
A Hikvision number plate recognition camera is designed to capture plate information as well as video of vehicles. It suits installations where you need to review arrivals and departures, identify a particular vehicle or configure alerts for recognised number plates.
The two lens choices let you match the camera to your entrance layout. The 2.8–12mm version provides a wider view, while the 8–32mm version offers a narrower view for more focused coverage from a greater distance.
4MP DeepinView Image Detail
This Hikvision DeepinView ANPR camera uses a 1/1.8-inch progressive scan CMOS sensor and records up to 2688 × 1520. At full resolution, it supports 25fps in 50Hz mode or 30fps in 60Hz mode. Higher frame rates of 50fps or 60fps are available at resolutions up to 2560 × 1440.
Five video streams provide flexibility for recording, live viewing and integration with compatible systems. H.265+ compression helps manage bandwidth and storage requirements.
Choose Your Motorised Varifocal Lens
The 2.8–12mm lens provides a horizontal field of view from 114.5° to 41.8°, making it useful for closer entrances and wider approach areas. The 8–32mm lens provides 42.5° to 15.1° horizontal coverage, helping you concentrate on a vehicle lane from further away.
Both versions support motorised lens adjustment, automatic, semi-automatic and manual focus, plus P-iris control. Choose according to the intended plate-capture distance, mounting position and lane width. A comparison of both stocked options appears below the specifications.
Automatic Number Plate Recognition
The Hikvision iDS-2CD7A46G0/P-IZHS supports number plate recognition for vehicles and motorcycles in supported checkpoint scenarios. As a Hikvision number plate recognition camera, it performs plate capture and recognition within the camera.
Allowlist and blocklist databases support up to 10,000 records for categorising plates and configuring event responses. Under Hikvision’s recommended installation and lighting conditions, the manufacturer specifies a plate recognition rate of at least 98% and a vehicle capture rate of at least 99%.
Vehicle Analytics and Parking Management
This Hikvision DeepinView ANPR camera can detect vehicle attributes including type, colour, brand and direction of travel. Vehicle and non-vehicle counting, road-traffic metadata and supported human or vehicle perimeter events provide further monitoring options.
Parking management modes support status detection for up to 40 parking spaces in distant-view mode or up to four spaces in close-view mode. Close-view mode also supports number plate recognition. Available functions depend on the selected operating mode and system configuration.
DarkFighter and 140dB WDR
DarkFighter technology helps retain useful image detail when available light is low. 140dB Wide Dynamic Range helps balance bright and shaded areas around entrances affected by sunlight, headlights and changing lighting.
This Hikvision 4MP ANPR camera also provides highlight compensation, backlight compensation, 3D noise reduction, defog, distortion correction and electronic image stabilisation. Configure exposure and image settings for the number plates and traffic conditions at your site.
Smart IR Night Monitoring
Infrared illumination reaches up to 50m with the 2.8–12mm lens or up to 100m with the 8–32mm lens. Smart Supplement Light adjusts infrared output to suit the scene, supporting black-and-white night images.
IR illumination range is not the number plate recognition distance. Reliable plate capture depends on lens adjustment, plate size in the image, mounting height, viewing angle, vehicle speed and lighting. Use the installation guidance in the datasheet when planning the capture area.
Recording and Remote Viewing
Record to a compatible NVR or fit a microSD card up to 1TB for local storage. Network storage through NAS and Automatic Network Replenishment are also supported. Recorders and memory cards are sold separately.
The camera supports Hik-Connect, iVMS-4200 and Hik-Central. Remote access requires a correctly configured network and internet connection. Plate searches, event handling and other advanced functions depend on the connected recorder, firmware and software.
Outdoor Housing and Fitted Back Box
The aluminium alloy housing provides IP67 water and dust resistance and IK10 impact resistance. A built-in heater supports operation in cold conditions, with an operating temperature range of -40°C to +60°C.
Our Hikvision iDS-2CD7A46G0/P-IZHS is supplied with its round mounting back box already fitted. This provides space for the connections, so a separate junction box is normally unnecessary for the standard supplied installation.

Installation & Compatibility
Position the Hikvision iDS-2CD7A46G0/P-IZHS for the intended number plate capture area. Follow the datasheet’s guidance on mounting height, horizontal and vertical angles, lane width and trigger distance. Configure and test plate capture in both daytime and night-time conditions.
Power the camera through an IEEE 802.3at PoE+ source rated for its maximum 16.8W consumption, or use a suitable 12V DC supply. Check both the per-port capacity and total available power when connecting multiple cameras to a recorder or switch.
A compatible Hikvision NVR can provide recording and playback. Confirm support for the ANPR search, event and database functions you require with the chosen recorder and firmware. Gate or barrier integration requires compatible external control equipment and appropriate configuration.
