Always suspicious of cameras which claim to give outstanding night vision but these Viper Pro cameras with the Sony Starvis chip have to be seen to be believed. With minimal lighting you get clear colour vision at night while in total darkness the infra red gives crystal clear B&W images.
The varifocal lens on this camera is very good giving sharp images. I have two of these covering the street side of the house and they give outstanding night colour images. Support from AAA very good.... I had an installation query sent by email and received a reply from within the hour.
I have always been skeptical about quality of CCTV night time images, more so when claims are made of ability to record in colour. While this camera (like all cameras) can only record in B&W under conditions of total darkness, it is far superior to any "low light" camera I have previously owned, whether recording colour in low light conditions or in total darkness using "smart" infra red . The combination of manual zoom lens , Sony Starvis technology and "smart" infra red results in excellent definition and clarity both day and night. I have bought a second camera of the same type (both are branded "Viper Pro"). and both are set to colour for night time recording and give superb images even though installed in a small rural village with limited street lighting.
